MINUTES OF SELECTMEN MEETING – January 25, 2010 5:00 PM
Selectmen Present: Eric R. Munson, Jr., Steven DellaGiustina and Thomas Paine
Also Present: Robert Maselek
Minutes of the previous meeting were read and accepted.
Jessica Kelmelis showed the board a sample of the Tolland flag. The board made a few suggestions and Jessica will discuss them with Hillary Carl to see if any changes can be made.
Bob Maselek was asked by the WPOA board to speak on their behalf. The WPOA board would like to exchange land located on Hartland Road for all or a portion of Beetle Road.
WPOA is looking into the possibility of gated the community. The Board of Selectmen mentioned that there are private property owners on Beetle Road. The Selectboard is not in favor of either but would have to bring the request to the taxpayers.
Bob asked if the Town of Tolland has any rules or regulations regarding the water in WPOA. The water in WPOA is private and anyone acting inappropriately or breaking the rules has to be handled by WPOA. Any questions that they may need can be directed to the DEP.
The Board of Selectmen appointed Bryan Perry to the Conservation Commission with a term of 4 years. The Conservation Commission members will have terms voted by the Board of Selectmen: Alan Binder 1 Year term, Pamela Schettini 2 Year term, Susan Voudren 3 Years term and Valerie Nickerson-Bird as the Agent.
The Board of Selectmen appointed Sharon Barber to the Zoning Board of Appeals. The Zoning Board of Appeals members will have terms voted by the Board of Selectmen: M. Steven Bartels 1 year term, Billy Walker 3 Year term and David Barney 2 year term. James Richard and Sharon Barber as Alternates.
